After five weeks, the Sjukt normalt! design exhibition has now come to a close. The exhibition showcased 13 objects, each focusing on critical perspectives on health and norms within healthcare. Several works addressed topics such as equal access to healthcare, health ideals, and perceptions of people living with disabilities.
“I am proud to say that we had over 300 visitors in a month! It has been amazing to showcase part of the Swedish norm-critical design scene and to visualize research in a new way. Design communicates differently than scientific texts,” says Britta Teleman, project manager for the exhibition and one of the exhibitors.
The visitors were a diverse group, representing many parts of society – from organizations, researchers, and designers to professionals, seniors, tourists, and students.
“Considering the significant interest from various stakeholders, it feels like we are on the right track. I am hopeful that we can continue highlighting norm-critical perspectives here at Halmstad University. With this exhibition, Leap for Life has laid a foundation we can build on. A big thanks to everyone who visited, shared your personal reflections, and contributed to meaningful discussions,” concludes Britta.
