The Patient Experience Council Bridging the Gap Between Research and Practice

People’s experiences and knowledge are crucial for the development of health, care, and welfare. Since 2021, the Patient Experience Council has played a key role in incorporating perspectives from patients and relatives into research and innovation efforts at Halmstad University. The council is linked to Leap for Life and, through its engagement, strengthens the conditions for creating solutions that make a real difference for both patients and the healthcare system at large.

The Patient Experience Council consists of individuals with first-hand experience of healthcare, both as patients and as relatives. Their role is to contribute perspectives that are central to research and development efforts. Anna Maria Mårtensson, Innovation Leader at Leap for Life, describes the council as an invaluable resource:
