By 2050, one third of Europe’s population will be over 65, while fewer choose to work in care. How can society meet rising needs with fewer resources?
The future of care calls for innovative solutions, often led by technology. But where should we draw the line between digital tools and the irreplaceable value of human care?

Innovation Jam is not just another seminar. It is an interactive format where experts and the audience together explore current societal challenges at the intersection of people, technology and innovation. The theme Human vs. Technology takes us straight into a vital discussion on digital inclusion and digital inequality:
The talk will be held in Swedish.
We open the doors at 11:30 for those who would like to mingle and enjoy a light lunch, and the programme kicks off at 12:00.
Ulli Samuelsson is a Senior Lecturer in Education at Jönköping University and has worked with digital competence and digital inclusion since the mid-1990s. Over the past decade, her research has mainly focused on the opportunities and challenges of ageing in an increasingly digital society. With people at the centre, she explores how digital technology can both help and hinder.
Maria Linnér has more than 20 years of experience in product development within industry, child safety and elderly care. Since 2024, she has been Head of Business Development for Senior Care at Assa Abloy.
Maria sees major challenges ahead for elderly care. As the number of older people increases, technology will be crucial to ensuring quality care and a good working environment. She focuses on strong leadership and dialogue with customers to develop products that meet real needs – something that requires an understanding of the care environment, available resources and the user’s level of knowledge.
The talk will be held in Swedish.
