Innovations for Personalised Care is a project aimed at developing and offering activities that create conditions and opportunities for the business sector to support the transition to personalised care.
Good and Close Care is an agreement between the state and Sweden’s municipalities and regions regarding a transition towards a sustainable healthcare system. Digitalisation and the role of the business sector in developing solutions are highlighted as key contributions to the success of this transformation. The project runs from 2023 to 2027 and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERUF) and Region Halland.
On this page, you will find information about ongoing and completed activities within the project.
Medicine Dispensers
In this project, together with our municipal coordinators, we have identified a need to explore the use of medicine dispensers. The goal is to conduct a survey to gain a deeper understanding of how these dispensers are used in the municipalities of Halland.
The focus is on analysing the effects of medicine dispensers, identifying success factors, and highlighting potential challenges. Through this work, we aim to gather valuable insights that can contribute to further development and innovation in this area.

Elderly care faces major challenges as more people grow older while resources become scarcer. Technology can be part of the solution – it can increase security, improve efficiency, and enhance quality of life. However, it also raises important questions about human interaction and ethics.
To highlight these issues, Leap for Life, together with Varberg Municipality, created a reflection object designed to spark discussions about when technology is a good solution and when human support is needed.

Visiba has developed an AI-based service for medical anamnesis and triage, which is currently mainly used in primary care. The tool asks questions about symptoms, prioritises cases, and suggests differential diagnoses based on clinical data and guidelines. The purpose of the service is to facilitate communication, both via text and video, with healthcare providers such as health centers.
Through a competence panel, the company aimed to learn more about how their solution could be developed and adapted for use in municipal health and social care. Both Halmstad Municipality and Varberg Municipality participated in the panel and responded positively to Visiba’s solution, recognising many potential benefits of using it in a municipal setting. Interest in learning more about Visiba’s solution was high, which led to a decision to further explore its potential by conducting workshops and interviews with healthcare and social care staff, as well as coordinating nurses, to gather more insights into current work processes. This is expected to be completed by summer 2025.

Omtanke Halland-kollen is an initiative from the preparatory group for Good and Close Care in Halland, aimed at developing a tool to evaluate initiatives within good and close care. Inspired by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' (SKR) tool Vård- och omsorgskollen and the vision for Omtanke Halland, Leap, together with project partners, developed a questionnaire.
The questionnaire is used as a support tool during interviews with patients, relatives, or staff to assess whether an initiative, new routine, or assistive tool has contributed to good and close care. The interviews provide an opportunity for participants to share their experiences and perspectives. The collected information can be used to further develop and strengthen efforts in line with the Omtanke Halland vision.
The questionnaire will undergo pilot testing in Halmstad, Laholm, and Hylte municipalities during spring 2025. Do you work in one of Halland’s municipalities and want to learn more? Contact project manager Loisa Cedergren.

VSA Innovation is developing a portable product for automated urine sampling in toilets, where the sample is analysed immediately, and the results are transferred digitally. Through a test panel, nurses and assistant nurses had the opportunity to try an initial prototype in realistic healthcare settings. We conducted observations where test participants followed given instructions to perform a simulated urine test, followed by questions about the prototype.
Several areas for improvement were identified, including how to simplify the sampling process further and the possibility of integrating test results directly into medical record systems. The test panel not only provided VSA Innovation with valuable insights for product development but also gave the healthcare sector a glimpse into new technology and its challenges.

Axon Tech has developed several digital assistants for elderly care and healthcare, focusing on quality and change management. These digital assistants have been tested and evaluated in private operations, and the company, with support from Leap, wanted to explore opportunities and challenges within municipal services. To do this, we organised a competence panel with representatives from Falkenberg, Halmstad, Hylte, and Varberg municipalities.
The panel found that the change management support is a unique service that complements municipalities' technological development. However, the need for chat assistants varied—larger municipalities with active IT departments saw less demand, while smaller municipalities expressed a clearer need for support. Additionally, the importance of stress-testing the assistants was discussed to identify and prevent potential biases, such as ensuring consistent responses regardless of the pronouns used.

Delori is a company based in Mölnlycke that develops digital solutions for managing rights and authorisations. Their latest service, Delori Payments, simplifies the handling of financial transactions in health and social care. The system enables a digital "petty cash" function, allowing staff to make purchases on behalf of service users in a transparent and secure way.
Through a competence panel organised by Leap, Delori gained valuable insights into how financial transactions are currently managed in Halland’s municipalities and how their digital solution could be adapted to meet operational needs. Discussions covered legal challenges, technical integration possibilities, and business models that could facilitate implementation.

Nutriqula has developed a mobile application that simplifies follow-up care for mothers and babies after childbirth. Today, this process is mostly handled manually, increasing the risk of missing important documentation and creating an inefficient workflow. The app includes a search function for quick access to guidelines and postnatal care documents.
Through a test panel organised by Leap, the app was discussed and demonstrated with midwives from the hospitals in Varberg and Halmstad, as well as researchers from Halmstad University. The need for such a tool is clear, especially among newly graduated midwives, and the search function is highly valued. However, challenges remain, such as the lack of digital work tools in healthcare settings.

On 3 October 2024, we hosted a lecture on AI-generated images as part of HighFive’s AI Breakfast. During the morning session, we explored the possibilities and challenges of AI-generated images, as well as the importance of a norm-critical perspective.
The discussion focused on how AI portrays women and men, people of different ethnic backgrounds and professions, and whether the technology considers gender and diversity perspectives. The conversation highlighted how AI-generated images can both reinforce existing norms and challenge them—making awareness of these issues particularly important.
The lecture provided inspiring insights and sparked many reflections on how technological advancements shape our perception of reality.

High cholesterol increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases but can be lowered through medication and dietary changes. Lowchole has developed a digital recipe book to support healthy choices for those looking to lower or maintain a healthy cholesterol level. Unlike general dietary advice, the service provides concrete solutions with exact ingredients and step-by-step instructions.
The company is in its startup phase and has sought support from Leap. Through a knowledge review, we mapped out the target audience for the service and gathered scientific evidence on the impact of diet on cholesterol. This was done through analyses of scientific articles, market research, and interviews with healthcare and nutrition experts.

Omtanke Halland leads the way towards a cohesive, person-centred, and accessible health and social care system. The core idea is that care should be adapted to the individual's needs—regardless of age, place of residence, or life situation.
The vision was developed at the request of leading politicians in the Municipal and Regional Leadership Forum (KRF), a collaborative body for the municipalities in Halland and Region Halland, and was adopted in November 2022.
Four Success Factors for Improving Health and Social Care in Halland:
