The Patient Experience Council (SE: Egenerfarenhetsrådet) is connected to Leap for Life and Halmstad University’s focus area Health Innovation. The council consists of patients, relatives, and representatives from various organisations with personal experience of Swedish healthcare and social care. Together with actors from academia, healthcare providers, and innovation support, the council works to ensure that those affected by healthcare services have a clear influence on research, innovation, and collaboration.
"The participants’ input was incredibly valuable. We gained new insights and ideas about target groups and how different phases of user involvement require different methods."
Emilie Rawlings, Social Services, Varberg Municipality

I have personal experience of being treated for atrial fibrillation, pulmonary sarcoidosis, and tonsil cancer. I want to contribute my experiences and perspectives to make a difference in healthcare.
In January 2017, I suffered a brain hemorrhage. My life changed overnight. During the rehabilitation process, I began learning about my condition and became actively involved in patient organizations.
My greatest driving force is to improve healthcare for children with disabilities and support their families. I have worked at the Children's Clinic in Halmstad for 40 years, with the past 20 years mainly focused on providing respiratory support to children with muscle weakness.
I have been in good health for most of my life, but I have also faced serious illness, battling cancer. I have also been a close relative, supporting my life partner through a severe and rare disease before they sadly passed away.
