Pelle Johansson is a board member of the Swedish Association for Oral and Throat Cancer and a research partner at the Swedish Heart and Lung Association. He is deeply passionate about sharing his experiences and working to improve healthcare.
I have personal experience of being treated for atrial fibrillation, pulmonary sarcoidosis, and tonsil cancer. Thanks to lifestyle adjustments, I am now declared healthy and no longer use any medications. Today, I am a happy retiree, actively involved in voluntary work within research and community organizations.
"My interest in health and well-being has been a consistent theme throughout my life"
Over the years, I have worked as a physical education teacher, wellness consultant, and more recently focused on healthcare development, particularly in heart and lung care. I have also worked to ensure that deaf children receive proper support, where, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, I developed and implemented an educational model for sign language. In 2002, I authored the book "To See but Not Hear."
I have also been involved in research. Among other roles, I served as an expert in the Public Health Inquiry (1997–2000), which led to the implementation of the smoking ban in restaurants. I have published studies and completed projects that improved hospital cardiac rehabilitation by 40%.
